All four matchups were played in a best-of-three format, with each series ending in a sweep as the top teams secured their place in the second round. With Round 1 in the books, the remaining teams now turn their attention to the semifinals with a berth in the league championship on the line.
Edmonton Jr. Oilers sweep Rocky Mountain Raiders (2–0)
The Edmonton Jr. Oilers opened their playoff run with a convincing two-game series win over the Rocky Mountain Raiders.
Edmonton controlled the series from the start, earning a 4–0 shutout victory in Game 1 before closing things out with a 5–1 win in Game 2.
With the win, the Jr. Oilers advance to the second round.
Red Deer Chiefs sweep Calgary Fire Black (2–0)
The Red Deer Chiefs advanced with a pair of strong performances against the Calgary Fire Black.
Red Deer captured Game 1 with a 4–1 win before securing the series with a dramatic 2–1 overtime victory in Game 2.
The Chiefs now move on to face the Edmonton Jr. Oilers in Round 2 for a chance to advance to the league finals.
St. Albert Slash sweep Lloydminster Steelers (2–0)
The St. Albert Slash relied on strong defensive play in their series against the Lloydminster Steelers.
St. Albert edged Lloydminster 2–1 in Game 1 before earning a tight 1–0 victory in Game 2 to complete the sweep and advance.
Calgary Fire Red sweep Sherwood Park Reign (2–0)
The Calgary Fire Red advanced with a convincing series win over the Sherwood Park Reign.
Calgary opened with an 8–1 victory in Game 1 before following it up with a 5–2 win in Game 2 to secure the sweep.
The Fire Red will now face the St. Albert Slash in Round 2 with a spot in the league championship on the line.
