AFHL November Wrap-Up

RED DEER – Continuing into the month of December, The St. Albert Slash (Midget AAA), Calgary Fire White (Midget Elite), and Calgary Fire Red (Bantam Elite) all lead their respective divisions at the end of the second month of action.

Midget AAA
Through November, the Midget AAA Female standings are:

1) St. Albert Slash (41 pts)
2) Edmonton Pandas (27 pts)
3) Lloydminster PWM Steelers (20 pts)
4) Rocky Mountain Raiders (20 pts)
5) Calgary Fire (20 pts)
6) Red Deer Sutter Fund Chiefs (4 pts)

St. Albert forward Jenna Goodwin has taken over the lead in points (14) and goals (9), while Kaia Borbandy leads the way in assists (10) and points (12).

Slash goaltender Mabel Maltais has been perfect this season with an 8-0 record, including three shutouts, which is tied for the league lead with her teammate Holly Borrett. Elise Hugens has been rock solid for the Edmonton Pandas this season, leading the league with a 0.67 GAA.

Through November, the Midget Elite standings are:

Sherwood Park Fury forward Tayler Premak holds top spot in the points category with 13, and is tied for the lead in assists with teammate Alex Walsh (7 each). Peace Country’s Arilyn Toews has scored the most goals in Midget Elite with eight.

Southern Express’ Hayley Whelen’s 1.18 GAA is still the top mark in Midget Elite, while St. Albert’s Layla Hood sets the pace with five wins and two shutouts, which is tied for the league lead with four others – Kalynah Fong Martin (Calgary Fire Red), Cienna Kinghorn (Calgary Fire White), Kamden Rochford (Lloydminster), and Tiana Stafford (Lloydminster).

Bantam Elite
Through November, the Bantam Elite standings are:

Hanna Perrier of Calgary Fire Red has taken over the lead in points (16) and is tied with her teammate Makenna Schafer with eight assists. North Central Impact’s Chloe Goofers and Peace Country’s Kamryn Aebly both lead the way in the goals with nine.

Jorja Fisher (Calgary Fire Red) has been spectacular this season, recording five wins and two shutouts in five games played, while logging a 0.60 GAA, all which lead the league. Caitlin Nichols (Red Deer) and Hadley Stevens (Calgary Fire White) have also recorded two shutouts each so far this season.
